Shuwalid is one of the most vibrant and meaningful cultural celebrations in eastern Ethiopia, observed annually by the Harari people in Harar. Recognized as an Intangible Cultural Heritage by UNESCO, the festival marks the completion of six days of voluntary fasting (Sittah Shawwal) following Ramadan.
